이 연구는 체육시설 이용자가 특정 시설을 선택하는 데 영향을 미치는 휴리스틱(heuristic) 요인을 탐색하고자 하였다. 체육시설은 이용적 측면에서 선택지가 다양하며, 체육시설에서 제공하는 서비스가 경험재적 특성이 있다는 가정하에 인간의 제한적 합리성(bounded rationality)을 설명하는 행동경제학(behavioral economics)의 관점에 맞추어 이중처리이론(dual process theory)의 시스템Ⅰ에 해당하는 즉흥적인 판단, 즉 휴리스틱 요인이 체육시설 선택 행위에 영향력을 가질 것이라는 새로운 시각에서 분석을 수행하였다. 체육시설(공공체육시설, 민간체육시설)을 이용한 경험이 있는 서울, 경기도 및 전라남도 소재의 대학교 재학생을 대상으로 온라인 및 서면 설문조사를 실시하였고, 설문 응답자는 총 275명이었다. 이를 토대로 요인분석과 평균차이분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 실제 체육시설 이용자들의 시설 선택에 영향을 미치는 휴리스틱 요인 5가지를 도출하였으며, ‘운동 휴리스틱’, ‘기준점과 조정 휴리스틱’, ‘가용성 휴리스틱’, ‘대표성 휴리스틱’, ‘합의-정확성 휴리스틱’으로 각각 명명하였다. 또한, 공공체육시설과 민간체육시설 간 시설이용자의 운동정도(저강도, 중등도)와 성별에 따른 휴리스틱 요인별 유의미한 차이를 확인하였다. 이후 요인분석을 통해 도출한 휴리스틱 요인변수가 체육시설 이용자의 공공체육시설 선택을 얼마나 예측할 수 있는지 판별분석을 실시한 결과 약 57%수준에서 공공시설을 선택함을 정확히 예측할 수 있으며, <요인3> ‘가용성 휴리스틱’, <요인1> ‘운동 휴리스틱’, <요인4> ‘대표성 휴리스틱’, <요인5> ‘합의-정확성 휴리스틱’, <요인2> ‘기준점과 조정 휴리스틱’ 순서로 판별력이 높은 변수로 나타났다.

The perspective of behavioral economics emphasizes the marginal rationality of humans. Based on behavioral economics, we found that there are multiple options for using sports facilities and that the services offered can have an experiential nature. This is confirmed by the new perspective that heuristic factors, which are intuitive judgments corresponding to System I of the dual process theory, influence sports facility choice behavior.
First, for the purpose of investigating the heuristic factors that influence sports facility users" choice of specific facilities, we conducted online and paper surveys among university students who have used sports facilities (public and private) in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Jeollanam-do. A total of 275 respondents participated in the survey. As a result of conducting factor analysis, we identified the following five heuristic factors that influenced sports users" facility selection: (i) "exercise heuristic"; (ii) "anchoring and adjustment heuristic"; (iii) "availability heuristic"; (iv) "representativeness heuristic"; and (v) "consensus implicit accuracy heuristic". Second, we conducted a group-comparison test and found that there were significant differences in heuristic factors between public and private sports facilities on the basis of exercise level over time and gender of facility users.
Finally, we conducted a discriminant analysis to determine the extent to which the heuristic factors can predict the choice of public gym facilities by gym users. As a result, we found that they can accurately predict the choice of public facilities at the level of about 57%. In addition, the heuristic factors with the highest discriminatory power in sequence were "availability heuristic", "exercise heuristic", "representativeness heuristic", "consensus implies correctness heuristic", and "anchoring and coordination heuristic".
