본 연구에서는 시민들이 지방자치 관련 교육참여 경험이 향후 지방자치교육에 대한 참여의향에 미치는 인과관계를 분석하고자 한다. 여기서 용인시민 500명을 대상으로 지방자치교육에 대한 설문조사데이터를 활용하였다. 먼저 지방자치 관심도와 주민참여기회는 지방자치교육 참여의향에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 관련 교육 참여 경험은 지방자치교육의 필요성과 지방자치교육 참여의향 간의 관계에서 조절효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 다시 말해, 관련 교육 참여 경험 수준이 높은경우는 그렇지 않은 경우에 비하여 지방자치교육 필요성 인식이 지방자치교육 참여의향에 미치는 긍정적 효과가 더 크다고 볼 수 있다. 따라서 지방자치교육에 대한 참여의향을 제고시키기 위해서는 지방자치에 대한 관심도와 주민참여기회, 지방자치교육의 필요성 인식을 향상시키는 것뿐만 아니라 관련 교육 참여경험을 확대하여 각 요인들의 긍정적인 영향을 강화시킬 필요가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of civic education participation experience on the intention to participate in local autonomy education. Data of 500 Yongin citizens who participated in the survey on local autonomy education were used.
The results of this study are as follows. First, the interest in local autonomy and the perception of the expansion of residents" participation opportunities had a positive effect on the intention to participate in local autonomy education through the perception of the necessity of local autonomy education. Second, participation experience in education related to local autonomy had an interaction effect in the relationship between the perception of the necessity of local autonomy education and the intention to participate in local autonomy education.
Based on the above research results, policy alternatives to strengthen participation in local autonomy education were proposed.
